Harry studied business at college before joining our sister company, W&H Roads. He began as a yard operative and soon after became a licenced machine operator. After transferring to A.W. Hardy as a labourer, he built up his knowledge of the trade by assisting our groundworkers, carpenters and Site Agents. He also spent one day per week in the office, shadowing our Senior Estimator and Contracts Director.
Returning to W&H Roads, Harry obtained his HGV licence and worked as a multiskilled lorry driver. Then, after qualifying with a CPC in Road Haulage, he took on the role of Transport Manager.
Harry is now a director of both A.W. Hardy and W&H Roads. He continues in the role of Transport Manager, but now oversees both companies’ operations and marketing. His ambition over the coming years is to help build both businesses, keeping a strong focus on delivering first-class, enduring workmanship and service to the local community.
Harry is a fourth-generation member of the Hardy family, which first set up A.W. Hardy as a carpentry business in 1958. He is proud to continue in the family tradition, delivering excellent buildings that shape and enhance the Essex landscape.
In his spare time Harry is a keen golfer and also enjoys water sports and skiing.
