The long-established grammar school for boys in Chelmsford is intent on not just promoting academic prowess, but sporting prowess too.
King Edward VIth Grammar School have taken time to prepare a new standalone sports hall within their school grounds in Chelmsford. Following consultation with Sport England and others, the school have awarded A.W. Hardy & Co. Limited the building project for a multi-sports facility large enough to accommodate five badminton-courts. This two-storey sports hall also includes a separate attached gymnasium space and extensive changing room and shower facilities.
The £3.5 million project is due to commence in late spring 2017 and renews the client’s association with A.W. Hardy and local architect The John Finch Partnership – a building team that previously, successfully delivered the school’s Art Block back in 2013/14.
