Background
We were approached by CML Microsystems Plc in 2023.
The client was looking to sell off some of the surrounding land within Oval Park and wished to create a new car park at the back of their offices for their own staff.
After submitting a successful tender response, A.W. Hardy was instructed to start the works in August 2023.
The build
Our team brought the car park to life according to the meticulous plans provided by general designers Barefoot Gilles and engineers Rossi Long Consulting.
We encountered a few design issues along the way, with varying ground conditions. But by working closely with the design team, all was resolved promptly and completion was achieved on time.
The car park – which accommodates 140 vehicles – was constructed using standard tarmac and block paving materials. Clean landscaping was added to soften the aesthetics. Appropriate street lighting and fencing was also added to complete this simple yet functional space, which includes six much-needed electric vehicle charging points.
