Background

We were delighted to have been able to deliver this exciting building for the people of Billericay, Essex. The aim was to make the Chantry Centre an instantly recognisable, safe and welcoming hub for the community. The building provides superb meeting and office facilities for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

The building also provides the first permanent home for Billericay Town Council since its formation in 1996. The work was undertaken in conjunction with Ingleton Wood, an architect we have worked with on many other developments.

The project

A.W. Hardy had full responsibility for all aspects of the construction. We built the community centre using modern materials that met recent standards. We also undertook mechanical and electrical installations.

Replacing the existing dilapidated day centre building, the new facility boasts an impressive double-height hall, high-specification meeting rooms and specialist audio visual features.

This challenging project is now a true Essex landmark that will be enjoyed by visitors for generations to come. It was made possible by highly effective teamworking between A.W. Hardy, Ingleton Wood and Billericay Town Council.
